For Pastors: Family and Vocation Conference (9/15/2013)

2013-09-15 – Zion Lutheran Church – Ainsworth, NE – A seminar about issues of family: marriage (including the question of gay marriage), parenting, being a son or daughter. This seminar will draw on Dr. Veith’s latest work that applies Luther’s doctrine of vocation to the different offices in the family. When Luther wrote about vocation, he was referring most of all to family issues, as opposed to "jobs." The same is true of the Bible. One needs to unpack the Biblical teachings about these important spheres of life, addressing the problems people face in them, as well as giving a framework for recognizing how God works in and through these offices. As all know, pastors deal with family issues ALL THE TIME, and it’s especially challenging today. Registration due 9/6/2013. Laity are welcome to attend but the seminar is taught on a clergy level, greek, latin, theological terms, etc. For more information, Click…
