Dorothy Schultz Named 2013 John E. Herrmann Stewardship Award Winner

The Michigan District Stewardship Committee is proud to announce the selection of Dorothy Schultz of Trinity, Jackson as the 2013 John E. Herrmann Memorial Stewardship Award winner. Nominated by Trinity’s office manager, Ann Holeso, Schultz has been a tireless worker in the Kingdom of God. Her list of stewardship work within and without the Church fills most of a page, and is an inspiration to all of us in the Michigan District. In recognition of outstanding stewardship work, Schultz was presented an award plaque by Larry Rockensuess, chair for the John E. Herrmann Award. A $1,000 gift was also presented for ministry use at Trinity in honor of Schultz. She has also had her name engraved on the John E. Herrmann Award plaque that hangs in the Michigan District Office. Gordon and Eileen Ritter, St. John’s, Grand Haven, were chosen as this year’s runner-up. The Ritters have been a great blessing to St. John’s where they serve on many activities and projects and in the community.  Inspired by this quote from John E. Hermann: “The time has come to go beyond the conventional and to do the heroic, the unusual, the thing we know we should have done long before the terrific storms of the present disturbed our feathered security. If God ever has pushed His people for action the time is now.” The District desire is to honor and recognize those who have heeded the call to do “the heroic, the unusual” in their stewardship lives. This year we recognize, thank, and honor Dorothy Schultz, Gordon and Eileen Ritter, and all nominees for their faithful stewardship work in the Kingdom. Well done, good and faithful servants!
