Beautiful Savior has been host to a Sudanese congregation that has been worshiping in their building building for over four years. Last year, two leaders from this community enrolled in a special program at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis to train specific people to become pastors in ethnic immigrant communities.
These two Sudanese students, Daniel Mapur and Samuel Majak are two students going through the EIIT program (-Ethnic Immigrant Institute of Theology). They have reached the point in time when they could apply to be vicars. Applications for vicarage were signed by congregational leaders of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church and Pres. Baneck and then sent to St. Louis. Rev. Dave Wagner attended a seminar in St. Louis with the Sudanese students. During the chapel service, vicarage assignments were given to several students – including Samuel and Daniel They will be installed at Beautiful Savior on at the 10:45 service on November 23rd.
